Legal basis
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Insofar as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, processing is based on the legitimate interest in operating the website securely, on processing your message and, where required, on your consent.
Visiting the website and server logs
With every visit your browser transmits technical information that the web server logs, such as IP address, date and time, the address requested, status code, referring page and browser identification. These logs serve operation, troubleshooting and security. They are not combined with other data sources.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, you transmit your name, your email address and your message. The website forwards them as an email via the website’s mail server to Wey Design AG. You receive a short confirmation of receipt by email.
If you write to us in a language other than German, we have your message translated into German automatically by the service OpenAI (OpenAI Ireland Ltd., processing also possible in the USA); we receive the translation together with the original. We store only the volume of the request, not its content.
Messages are not stored in a database of the website. The server log records that a message was sent, with name, email address and IP address, so that faults and misuse can be traced. To prevent misuse, the server also limits the number of messages per IP address.
Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To protect our forms (contact form, newsletter, user account, login and “Forgot password”) against automated misuse, the website uses Cloudflare Turnstile. The Cloudflare script is loaded only when you submit a form – not when you merely visit the page. Turnstile evaluates technical browser and connection information for this purpose, including your IP address; this may be transferred to Cloudflare, Inc. in the USA. Our server then checks only the result of the check. Turnstile does not set advertising cookies. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security of the website. Cloudflare’s privacy policy applies.
Map (OpenStreetMap)
On the “Contact” page a map shows where to find us. Your browser loads the map images from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (St John’s Innovation Centre, Cambridge, United Kingdom); in doing so, the foundation receives your IP address and your browser information. The map is loaded only on this page. The OpenStreetMap Foundation’s privacy policy applies.
Translation of the website content
To offer this website in German and English, we may have texts that we publish on the website ourselves (page content, titles, image descriptions) translated automatically by the service OpenAI. Only this editorial content is transmitted. No personal data of visitors, user accounts or newsletter subscriptions is transmitted for this purpose.
Fonts and images
Fonts and images come from the website’s own server; nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or similar services. Before publication, the metadata of photos is removed, including location data.
Cookies and local storage
This website does not set any cookies of its own. It remembers some settings in your browser’s local storage (language and accessibility settings such as light or dark). These entries stay on your device and are not transmitted to the server.
Hosting
This website runs on IT Hub GmbH’s own servers in Switzerland.
Retention
Server logs are deleted automatically after 30 days, unless they are needed to investigate a specific security incident.
Your rights
Within the framework of the applicable data protection laws, you have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. An email to sales [at] wey-design.ch or info [at] ithub.ch is sufficient. You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Security
The connection to this website is encrypted throughout (HTTPS).
Changes
This statement is updated when something changes on the website or in the services used. Status: 3 November 2026.
Web statistics
To see which pages are read, the website counts its visits itself – without Google and without other services. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
With every page view the server creates a key from your IP address and your browser identification, mixed every day with a new random value. The IP address itself is not stored; this way you cannot be recognised beyond the day. Stored are the page visited, the time, the name of the website you came from, device type, browser, operating system and screen width, country, canton and town (determined by Cloudflare from the IP address), the time spent and whether you submitted the contact form or the newsletter sign-up, clicked a phone number or email address, opened a document or played a film – never what you entered.
We delete the individual page views after 90 days and the daily figures after 13 months; after that only monthly totals remain, with no connection to individual visits. Only Wey Design AG sees the evaluation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website.
User account
For protected pages, images and documents you can request a user account or be invited by us. For this we process:
- first and last name, email address and your consent to this privacy policy,
- your password, exclusively as an irreversible check value (hash),
- role and status of the account (invited, unconfirmed, awaiting approval, active, blocked) and the times of request, confirmation, approval and last login,
- if you switch on two-factor login: the encrypted key of your authenticator app and the recovery codes as check values.
We use this data only to log you in, to show you the pages, images and documents released for you and to send you the emails belonging to the account (invitation, confirmation, approval, password reset). We do not pass it on and do not send advertising. When you request an account, Cloudflare Turnstile protects the form as described in the section “Spam protection”.
The links in these emails are valid only once and only for a short time (invitation 72 hours, confirmation 24 hours, password 60 minutes); only a check value is stored. Addresses of protected images and documents contain an identifier of your account and are valid for 60 minutes, those of protected films for 4 hours.
We delete unconfirmed requests automatically after 7 days, rejected ones immediately, and expired links after 30 days. We delete your account at any time on request: write to sales [at] wey-design.ch.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process:
- your email address,
- the language and the page on which you subscribed,
- the times of subscription, confirmation and unsubscription.
The subscription is valid only once you click the link in the confirmation email (double opt-in). Without confirmation you will not receive a newsletter. Cloudflare Turnstile protects the sign-up form as described in the section “Spam protection”.
We use your address only for the newsletter of Wey Design AG and do not pass it on. You can unsubscribe at any time – via the link in the newsletter or with an email to sales [at] wey-design.ch. After unsubscribing, we keep the entry as proof of your earlier consent; on request we delete it completely.
Deleted content
Whatever we delete from this website – pages, texts, photos, films, albums and documents – is no longer visible to visitors immediately. For the editorial team it remains in a recycle bin for 30 days so that accidental deletion can be undone; after that it is deleted permanently.
If you would like a photo or a text about you to be removed immediately and permanently, write to sales [at] wey-design.ch – we will then delete it without the 30-day period.
